Isolated-Phase Bus Air-Insulated
ELPE

APPLICATION

  • generator leads in power stations and heat & power plants,
  • connections between electric power equipment in high short-circuit capacity systems,
  • single phase connections of generators with main, auxiliary or excitation transformers,
  • interconnections in auxiliary service power system of transformer stations,
  • in highly polluted or humid environments,
  • not applied for rooms in danger of explosion.

GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS

  • reliable and economical electrical power installations for voltages from 12 kV to 36 kV and rated current 1.25 kA to 24 kA,
  • suitable both for indoor and outdoor operation,
  • degree of protection up to IP 65,
  • optional design with pressurized dry air.

DESIGN

  • medium voltage busducts type ELPE are designed as single-phase conductors enclosed by an individual tight, self supporting housing which serves as a screen, supported inside the enclosure on cast resin or porcelain insulators,
  • conductors made from shaped aluminium or copper bars, welded or bolted,
  • connections of ELPE bus to the generator, transformers or switchgear cubicles are made with copper flexible straps which provide the best short-circuit withstand level,
  • enclosure made from sheet aluminium,
  • modern silicone bushings are provided in busducts with dry air overpressure,
  • electrical equipment used in ELPE busducts is enclosed in special housings,
  • self cooling of conductors and enclosure.

The standard ELPE system for generator lead:

  • connection form generator terminals to the main transformer,
  • tap-offs to other transformers,
  • generator "star" connection,
  • earth fault protection cabinet,
  • connection to the switching equipment,
  • supporting structure.

FEATURES

  • possibility of adjusting the standard design to individual needs of the user and providing additional equipment,
  • new techniques of design, manufacture and assembly which enable manufacture of IPB for special service conditions,
  • optimising electrical and mechanical parameters (at customer’s request),
  • self-supporting structure enabling many meters long spacing of supports,
  • expansion joints on the conductor and the enclosure eliminate the problems of linear expansion forces,
  • inspection and maintenance windows for control and easy access to insulators, apparatus and bolted connections,
  • short time of assembly on site due to advanced prefabrication and modern erection methods,
  • low costs of operation,
  • corrosion resistance,
  • electric-shock safety,
  • environment friendly
